I guess it wasn't a delivery because we had to go pick it up. whatevs.
OUR PIANO IS HERE!!
Mike went with us to load it in and get it in the house. Thanks Mike!! (Hope you enjoyed the Rice Krispies Treats)
I have already (re)learned three chords and am well on my way to hosting a Christmas Carol Sing-a-Long :)
Pete was pleased to find that he still had some mad(ish) skills:

Ale 8 Man Flies Again!!
...and races the Bluegrass 10,000 course with a finishing time of 37:10 (can YOU imagine running sub-6-minute miles wearing a CAPE?!?!)
Matt and Jen met me at our house just after 7am for cinnamon rolls and we walked down to the course together. Here's the best video we caught of our favorite superhero in action.
these next two are supposed to be just pictures - still getting the kinks out of the new iFlip - so don't waste 10 seconds watching them waiting for something to happen
and another costume we felt deserved a cameo:

After the race we had a pretty relaxed afternoon at home, and then drove out to Herrington Lake to cookout with Emily at her parents' new lake house. It was great to see old friends again and relax the evening away. We watched fireworks from HotRod's new pontoon boat and had a great evening.
After church Sunday morning we had brunch at Alfalfa's and got to work on our afternoon project of staining our new glider. The first coat is done, but it still needs touch-up and sanding so no pictures yet.
Matt and Jen came back over on Sunday for a cookout and to eat the chocolate truffle ice cream Pete and I made (yum!) We played Sequence and Guesstures until we heard fireworks outside. We knew they were louder than the backyard kind - Idle Hour was having its own show so we walked up a block for a better view and saw our second firework show in two days! It was such a good show, I think we'll definitely go back next year. We love playing games with Matt and Jen - here's just a sample of how entertaining it can be in our living room thanks to a certain redhead. We can't wait for our week together in Charleston!! (5 1/2 weeks!)

Today it was back to work bright and early - Pete was out of the house before 7am! This evening we drove to Lawrenceburg to look at a little item we saw on Craigslist - and returned home the proud new owners of a PIANO!! (why no, neither of us play, why do you ask?) We don't actually have the piano yet, we'll have to rent a U-Haul to bring it home as it doesn't exactly fit in the back of the Prius.
Hopefully next weekend is as good as this past one - I want to see Despicable Me!
