BUSY weekend! (but no pics, sorry)

Saturday Pete and I did go to Run for the Nun and Pete WON IT! I was about 2/3 back in the crowd so I saw him at the turn around and he was smokin!! I'm so proud of him - and he was afraid he wouldn't do very well. We didn't do much the rest of the morning, went home and got cleaned up and headed out to Hamburg to get some lunch and run some other errands. While finishing up our tasty lunch at Cosi, my blog friend Lesli walked out onto the patio! It was like having a celebrity sighting!! I'd met Lesli once before years ago - that's how I started reading her blog but now she lives in Mississippi so to see her in Lexington was SUCH a surprise - and she looks great and it made my afternoon to see her!

In the evening Pete needed to go to Louisville to pick up some samples so I tagged along! We went to The Summit to do a little browsing and ended up eating dinner at what might be my new favorite restaurant in Louisville -- Martini Italian Bistro. I can't wait to go here for lunch with the girls soon - they have all kinds of fruity martinis and my entree was outstanding.

We drove home, took the dogs on a quick walk, and headed back to the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Country Fair (where the race was in the morning). We didn't win any baked goods in the raffle, but came home with a gorgeous hanging basket that we won at the garden roulette booth!

After THAT we went to get frozen yogurt before heading home and going straight to bed - what a day!

Today was pretty typical but we sang with the choir again at church which we haven't been able to do in over a year because I had class during choir practice. It was so great to sing again! We saw a matinee of Get Him to the Greek with Matt and Jen - it was funny, but made The Hangover look like it was G-rated. I made a nice dinner from Cooking Like - Salmon with Fingerling Potatoes and Chorizo, we took the dogs for a walk, and now it's time for bed!

Five Years!

Somehow, it seems as though in a blink of an eye, we have been married five years. To celebrate our anniversary we went out to dinner soon after I arrived home from work/school. Then we came home, walked the dogs, and are about to settle in front of the t.v. to watch whatever's up next on our Netflix. Yup, sounds about right for two old folks like us!

Tomorrow is the Run for the Nun, stay tuned to see if I convince Pete to run it in a pink tutu like he did the morning of our wedding. :)
