Here he is at long last, Sheldon the Turtle!

Josie's not so sure if she likes him or not, but she's happy to show him her relaxation moves...

Kitchen Photos

It's not entirely finished yet, but it's done enough that I can post some pictures. These are mostly for you, Jenni. Here are some before and after pictures of our kitchen project. Mom and I did the biggest part with all the new hardware and the sanding and the painting, and then I picked another accent color that I've painted on two of the three walls. The third wall will involve moving the refrigerator, so it's going to wait for a little while. The far wall is still almond and it will get painted white in the next week or so. Also, we'll (someday) replace the appliances with stainless steel ones. And, if I'm a very good girl and Santa is feeling kind, I might even get a new floor!!

Happy Anniversary to US!

Well, as most of you know, today was mine and Pete's 2nd Anniversary. On one hand I can't believe it's been two years, on the other it seems like we've always been together. We had the best weekend, starting with Saturday morning's Run for the Nun. As you may recall, Run for the Nun is the 5K Pete ran the morning of our wedding in a pink tutu and wand with his groomsmen decked out in Operation Free Pete cammos.
This year we ran it without costumes. It was only my second 5k, but I think I did a good job, running it in 32:30. I ran the first mile in 9:45! Pete, of course, came in second place with a time of 18:07, which is really good considering what a hilly course it was.
I had to work from ten to six but we went back to the fair Saturday night and had a really good time watching the carnies and eating food we haven't had for about ten years--Pete had a corn dog and I had cotton candy --it was totally gross but really tasty! The coup of the evening was when Pete bought me six balls to throw at the goldfish toss --and I WON!! THREE TIMES!! That's right, we came home with three new goldfish! Not to worry, we didn't keep them, we put them in our friend Jim's pond before going to breakfast yesterday.
I only worked a half day today so we could spend the afternoon together --we walked around this antique store we like, Room Service, and I took a nap while Pete went on his run.
We went to dinner at Murray's and had a really nice dinner. I had too much wine so I'll probably crash after finishing this. Here're some pics. Thanks for all the notes/cards/emails!!

In case any of you needed a reminder...
