Well, as most of you know, today was mine and Pete's 2nd Anniversary. On one hand I can't believe it's been two years, on the other it seems like we've always been together. We had the best weekend, starting with Saturday morning's Run for the Nun. As you may recall, Run for the Nun is the 5K Pete ran the morning of our wedding in a pink tutu and wand with his groomsmen decked out in Operation Free Pete cammos.
This year we ran it without costumes. It was only my second 5k, but I think I did a good job, running it in 32:30. I ran the first mile in 9:45! Pete, of course, came in second place with a time of 18:07, which is really good considering what a hilly course it was.
I had to work from ten to six but we went back to the fair Saturday night and had a really good time watching the carnies and eating food we haven't had for about ten years--Pete had a corn dog and I had cotton candy --it was totally gross but really tasty! The coup of the evening was when Pete bought me six balls to throw at the goldfish toss --and I WON!! THREE TIMES!! That's right, we came home with three new goldfish! Not to worry, we didn't keep them, we put them in our friend Jim's pond before going to breakfast yesterday.
I only worked a half day today so we could spend the afternoon together --we walked around this antique store we like, Room Service, and I took a nap while Pete went on his run.
We went to dinner at Murray's and had a really nice dinner. I had too much wine so I'll probably crash after finishing this. Here're some pics. Thanks for all the notes/cards/emails!!
In case any of you needed a reminder...
